Baker Days Letterbox Cake Review

Saturday 23 May 2015

I was delighted when last week the lovely company 'Baker Days' got in contact and offered to send us one of their letterbox cakes to review, I mean, who doesnt love cake!?

Cunningly clever little cakes for one or two of you. This small, perfectly proportioned cake is the baby of our family. It's the thoughtful gift that will totally delight a loved one. This brilliant cake, as it's name suggests, can arrive through the post, just like a Birthday card. Cakes by post, it's the future!Baker Days' 5" letterbox cakes description

They asked me to pick whatever design and style I wanted from the website and I have to admit it took me a good long while to pick as there is so many to choose from! I mean seriously, every image, design and pattern under the sun is on that website!

After battling with myself not to get a One Direction cake (it was so tempting!) I eventually decided on a cute but classy floral design - This one to be exact. The great thing about Baker Days is that they will add any message you want onto your cake at no extra cost so I chose to send mine to my mum to thank her for helping out with Lily recently.

The text reads 'For being you, Mohair' (mohair is my nickname for my mum!) and I was impressed with how bold and clear the text was. The cake itself tasted delicious too, I went for a simple vanilla sponge and according to my mum it didn't disappoint!

The cake also comes in a gorgeous little cake tin which is perfect for the kitchen, a little blank card for you to write your own message to your cake recipient and even a complimentary packet of love heart sweeties..I was impressed!

My only quibble was that the colours of the cake didn't exactly match how it looked on the website, with the background being much more of a yellow colour than the cream colour it looked in the online image. This didn't take anything away from the cake though and I was still really pleased with it.

Just FYI Baker days don't just do letter box cakes, they do a large range from gorgeous themed cupcakes to full sized 12 inch cakes. Whether you're looking for a small but thoughtful gift or wanting a cake to feed the five thousand, Baker Days seems to have it all.

With prices starting at £14.99 I will leave you with the following links:
