Weekend Watch - 29.08

Wednesday 2 September 2015

This weekend was the bank holiday weekend and it's been one of my favourites so far. I've been feeling a lot better in terms of sickness so thought I'd make the most of it whilst my energy's back so its been busy busy busy.

On Saturday we took a trip to Golden Acre Park, a really lovely park in Leeds we dont often get chance to visit.

The day was pretty sunny but had an autumnal feel. We had a picnic in the middle of the trees with strawberries and chocolate chip cookies which was really lovely but had to be cut a little short when we started getting interest from wasps..bloody nuscience!

The walk in itself was so picturesque, Bridges, tunnels and much to Lily's delight, climbing monkey trees.

On Sunday James hosted a barbeque/playstation night for his friends. It started at 3pm and me and Lily sat and watched them play their weird car-football game for a bit before we decided to go out and leave them to it. " Mummy these boys are so noisy" - Lily

The afternoon turned into some lovely mother-daughter time as we wandered down to the park in the sunshine. We went on the park's train which Lily absolutely adored before heading to the cafe for a strawberry milkshake and to share a slice of overpriced cake. Perfect afternoon together.

Monday the weather was not so lovely. Downright miserable really. But it was the annual local carnival and so I took lily down with my brother and parents for something to do. To be honest she wasn't too impressed, even my mum buying her an Elsa balloon didn't cheer her up and she asked to go home within 30 minutes of getting there. I happily obliged, it was freezing and luckily the carnival was only a few streets away so we hadn't gone out of our way to get there or anything. The rest of the afternoon/evening was spent watching frozen together on the sofa with our blankets and bowls of cheesy pasta. Can't really complain!
