Weekend Watch - 17.01.16

Sunday 17 January 2016

If you follow me on social media you'll know that this weekend is our second to last weekend before I go in to be induced and so I really want to make the most of these last two weekends as a threesome. Saturday evening it was starting to snow just as we were putting Lily to bed and she got so excited about it I honestly didn't think we'd manage to get her to sleep but she went out like a light with the promise of being allowed to play in it in the morning.

When we got up this morning Lily told us she'd dreamt about snowmen and fairies, how adorable!? She then raced to the window and looked at the snow declaring that as soon as she'd had her cereal she wanted to go and build a snowman with us so we hurried to get dressed and that's what we did. Although it soon became clear that the reality of snow didn't quite live up to the fantasy in Lily's eyes!

We trudged down to the park to collect sticks for the snowman's arms but after literally 5 minutes of walking Lil had a meltdown declaring her feet were too cold and that actually she didn't like the snow. Look at that grumpy face, typical!
To be honest I didn't mind that much because my hips were killing me but I think James was a bit gutted he couldn't stay out in the snow a bit longer, he's just a big kid at heart!

The rest of today was pretty chilled after that.  We've done a lot of playing with Lily's sylvanians, the heating has been on full force and the day ended with a lovely warm bath. The house is an absolute tip but I'm ignoring it for now and will tackle it when Lily's back at nursery tomorrow instead. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!

I'm already thinking about what we can do together next weekend before the induction. As the sciatica is stopping me from walking very far a trip out is pretty much out of the question but I'm thinking a nice pub lunch somewhere would be nice. Hopefully we can get the house sorted for baby this week so we're not racing around next weekend trying to do it all as I want to enjoy next weekend with Lily without having my mind on a million and one other things.

    1. Aw that's a shame, the snow makes everything so pretty! I was expecting it to be gone in the morning too so it was a nice surprise when it wasn't x
