Archers 5 Month Update

Monday 18 July 2016

It's really hard for me to get my head around Archer being 5 months. When I stop and think about it, like, really think about it, it freaks me out. Does anyone else ever feel that way?
I mean next month he'll be half way through his first year and that's just something my brain can't even comprehend right now!

So this month I feel like we've seen the biggest change in arch so far. As my brother so eloquently put it when he last came down for a visit 'He's actually like a proper human now man' and that's exactly it! He seems much more of a little person recently. His own little person. With his very own little thoughts and feelings, likes and dislikes. It's hard to explain but it's almost as if he's gone from being almost doll like in that way that newborns are (that sounds quite mean written down but I'm sure you know what i mean) to this personality just suddenly erupting out of him.

I went and checked back on Lily's 5 month update like I do each month and I'd written that she'd started doing this high pitched shriek every time I left the room. That made me laugh because it's EXACTLY what Arch has started doing. He gets so outraged if I move out of his eye line!
He has favourite toys all of a sudden and certain songs and faces that make him laugh.

We've introduced the seahorse this month and it's done wonders to Archers sleep. We used one with Lily and swore by it (she still uses it now) so I dont know why we didn't start using it sooner this time around. When Arch wakes up in the night I quite often put the seahorse on now rather than going to feed him straight away and more often than not it puts him back to sleep for at least another hour if not two.
2 nights ago Arch slept through the night (7.30-6) We couldn't believe it when we woke up! the first thing I did was check his temperature to make sure he wasn't poorly haha. He hasn't done it since so it may have just been a fluke..we'll have to see!

This month you are -
Rolling onto your side and back again
In size 4 nappies
Chatting all the time
Bouncing in the jumperoo
Using a bumbo
Getting teething temperatures & doing a lot of drooling! Putting everything in your mouth
Getting a touch of seperation anxiety
Giggling

  1. I think 5 months is when they really change isn't it, it's the end of the newborn stage and the start of all the really exciting milestones! Fx he sleeps through again for you haha xx
