Making our house a home

Monday 4 July 2016

For a long while now myself and James have been deciding whether to move house and if so when. We've been living in our house for nearly 3 years now, Lily was less than a year old when we moved here and despite the fact that we could ideally do with a bit more space now that we have arch as well, the bottom line is we all love it here. We know our neighbours, we adore the area and we feel safe. It feels like home.

With the decision finally made that we'll be staying here, for a few more years at the very least, I've decided it's time to spring into action and to make this house look like the home I really want.

I've been holding back on decorating ever since we moved in here purely for the fact that we never knew how long we were staying. Now I have the time to change things around the way I want to and so I thought I'd document my home redecoration project on the blog for anyone who might be interested (and for myself since I love writing about home stuff!)

My plan is to do a post on each room of the house, what it looks like now, what I want to change, possibly a mood board and hopefully some before and after shots
I'm not living in dreamland, as impatient as I am I know this is going to take a while as we don't have the budget to do up the whole house at once. We're also only renting so as much as I would love to do things to this house such as strip all the wardrobes, change the flooring and add a conservatory we're unfortunately limited to the decorating side of things. Although that being said our landlord is such a lovely and relaxed guy that he probably wouldn't mind too much either way so who knows in the future!

I'm really excited to get started..bring on the beautiful pintrest inspired home haha!

  1. Anybody can own a house but it is not that easy to transform it into a home. Everyone has different expectations and their own definition of a home but for me less is indeed more. A simple layout with lots of room for storage would be ideal to call home.
