Archers 9 Month Round Up

Monday 28 November 2016

Archer is 10 months as of today and I really just can't compute how this has happened. We made it to double figures bud!
He's developed so much this month - physically especially and it's dawning on me now how much of a little boy he's becoming. Not that he hasn't always been a little boy but you know what I mean, all of a sudden he's just so much less of a baby.

This month we have army crawling! Only in the past week really but he can go so fast already! I think actual crawling wont be far behind as he likes to get up on all fours and rock backwards and forwards so it shouldn't take too long before he figures it out. And then god help us all.
He can also now go back to sitting from lying down too which is a relief because it was so frustrating having to pick him up every single time he toppled over!

Bearing weight is also happening now too and this is probably the scariest thing of all. He loves standing and is happiest standing holding on to furniture which quite frankly terrifies me. He's not yet cruising which I'm kind of thankful for because that's when accidents really happen! It's all just so different to Lily who was just completely content to sit happily on the ground with her toys and not move much at all. Whereas Arch just constantly has to be on the move. He's such a freaking boy!

We also had his 9 month check up last week which went well. The HV said not to worry about his poor sleep and she seemed pleased I was still breastfeeding. She said she found it a shame that you dont get many people breastfeeding past 6 months anymore which I wasn't aware of. After taking his weight and height measuments she told us he's slightly above centile for weight and slightly below for height which made me laugh as he's basically just short and chubs! I remember them saying the exact same thing about Lily at her 9 month review so it's obviously just the way my children are built!

As we look to Christmas I'm thinking about how much he'll enjoy the day - especially all the wrapping paper, if Lily's birthday was anything to go by. It's hard to know what to get him as baby toys are  expensive in my opinion and he probably wont be using them for long before moving on to the next thing. Hmm. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing him get caught up in the excitement of it all - I can't wait to see his face when he sees the tree!
