January through my phone

Wednesday 1 February 2017

So it's a new year and I'm so glad to be continuing on with '..through my phone.' My camera roll is as full as ever, bursting at the seams, this month especially. I'm not entirely sure why I seem to have taken just SO many pictures this month - I didn't even realise till I looked back at my camera roll but there you go.

January has seen my girl go back to nursery and my boy turn one. It's seen James work longer hours at work, Arch drop his afternoon nap (noo) and us make a decent start on sorting out the house. It's also seen us lose our beloved grandma who we all thought the world of. So it's been a mixed bag to say the least.

I feel like January and February are the months where everyone is just so done with Winter. The high of Christmas is gone for another year and we're all entirely over the cold. I always seem to spend the first few months of each year dreaming of spring. Warmer weather, fresh flowers and being able to open the patio doors again. Getting the scooter out of the back of the cupboard and using the swing in the garden again. Hanging clothes out on the washing line and stocking up the freezer with Lils favourite rocket lollies. All of that good stuff.

I can't wait.

But back to the photos. There's a lot of party decor photos in my camera roll at the moment after Archers birthday at the weekend. We went for a monochrome wildlife theme and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The third photo down in the centre is Lily modelling a foot stool for me. We took a trip to IKEA a few weeks ago and she was pointing out the most random of furniture that she apparently needed (not wanted..needed!) This footstool being one of them. She told me she was going to model it for me and asked me to take a picture. God love her. ðŸ˜‚
The third photo from the bottom left (I really should start numbering these collages) is one of my all time favourites. Archers reaction when we go to collect Lily from nursery is the best thing ever. Honestly it's like he hasn't seen her for years, not hours.

Another of my current favourite photos is the third photo down on the right hand side. James took it of Arch having a feed before bed on his birthday. He was so tired from his party bless him. I can't believe I've been breastfeeding for a year now! I keep meaning to do a breastfeeding update at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I feel like things might be starting to settle down a bit after a hectic 2016 and I'm looking forward to what February may bring.
