Weekend Watch - Hangovers & Family Walks

Monday 3 July 2017

Sometimes I feel like I need to pack everything I can into a weekend to make it a worthwhile one. I'm a planner, always have been and not planning ahead can often make me feel quite anxious. Other times however I feel like the best plans we can possibly have for our 48 hours together each weekend is to have no plans at all. There's actually nothing more worthwhile than spending time as a family together at home, taking each day as it comes.

I may have romanticised all that a bit though because Saturday morning I woke up hungover as f*ck 😂 and so yeah, there was pretty much no option but for there to be a lazy day on the cards 😂
I never drink really and so when my parents had the kids on Friday night myself and James decided to make the most of it by watching a movie and having a few drinks. Which turned in to many. Which resulted in hangover city.

However a lazy day worked out well all round on Saturday. I flopped on the sofa feeling sorry for myself, Lily watched Horrid Henry the movie which apparently was just the funniest thing ever and Archer thankfully had a long afternoon nap. So long in fact that we decided that we needed to get out of the house for a walk after he woke in order to re-tire him out for bedtime.

I'm glad we got out. The fresh air did us all good and I'm conscious of the fact that the summer will be coming to a close before we all know it. Come September this woodland walk that I love so much will become a mud bath only suitable for wellies and rain coats. And so I must remind myself to make the most of it in the new two months, before the autumn and winter months are upon us again.

  8. Their matching outfits are very cute, we live near woods and, once the rains start they become very muddy too, almost impassable, so enjoy while it's still dry 👍🏻
