Our Week in Pictures #11 - Half Term

Monday 30 October 2017

Okay so a little pre warning before you click on read more is that this post is the most picture heavy post I have EVER had on the blog! As in might make your internet implode there's so many. So if photo's aren't your thang I'd suggesting clicking off before it's too late ;)
With it being half term and us being so busy I knew it would go one of two ways - I'd either be so rushed off my feet that I wouldn't get the camera out once or I'd have so much to photograph that I'd be left with 10000 snaps on my hands to edit by the end of the week. It's ended up most definitely being the latter!

I'm not entirely sure why but I had it in my head that this half term would go seriously slowly when in actual fact I feel like it's been and gone in the blink of an eye. For a start, I've barely seen my child! The one whose supposed to be on holiday!  She's such a social butterfly she's had a play date almost every day of the week, which is lovely for her but was a bit rubbish for me when I was looking forward to spending some quality time with her.

We started half term off on the Monday by going to Harewood House. Lily & her friend Harrison spent the whole time in the adventure playground with nanny and I took Archer off for a walk through the gardens. Even at this time of year the Harewood gardens are beautiful. I'll never get bored of them.

Looking out for grandad to arrive home from work later that day

On Thursday we visited the Pumpkin Patch at Farmer Copleys. As you can see from the lighting and tone of the pictures below it was a pretty cold and miserable day weather wise but it didn't stop us from having fun! We dressed baby Wilf up in a Harry Potter hat, took bump shots of our friend Lauren and put the kids in a wheelbarrow. What's not to love! Farmer Copleys has a lovely feel to it. Lots of land and a gorgeous cafe and shop that are both well worth a visit.

Friday was a slow day, about as boring as they come. Lily had her first sleepover at her cousin Ava's the night before and was spending the day out of Leeds with Ava and her auntie.
Arch spent most of the day bored and he did a lot of garden play whilst I attempted to tidy the house before lily's birthday weekend.

On Saturday we had some of James' family over for a birthday lunch. I did a bit of a last minute spread with an Autumn theme for my October baby. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out to say it was all quite rushed! It was nice for Lil & Arch to have everyone over. Especially James' sister who they adore but lives in Manchester and so they don't get to see as much.
On Sunday Lily turned five. Which is just insane to me. We had lovely family day at The Forbidden Corner in Leyburn but left the camera at home so we could focus all our energies on the birthday girl. Look out for a 5 year update and birthday shoot post coming up soon though!

  6. I felt exactly the same about half term - I was worried it was going to be hard with both of them at home, but I don't think I even had chance to think, let alone be bored! It looks like you had a wonderful one though, I especially love the pumpkin patch pictures xxx
