Our Week in Pictures #13

Saturday 6 January 2018

The Christmas holidays are over and done with and I'm a little bit gutted. For the first time in a long time I could easily have had another few weeks holiday but alas it's back to cold rainy school runs and noisy overcrowded play groups instead!

Normally I crave the routine of these sorts of things but I think what I've enjoyed most about these particular holidays is the lack of routine, the lack of anything really. For the past week I've had no idea what day it is, that weird period in-between Christmas and New year where time seems to stand still and no-one really has any concept of it. I've surprised myself if I'm honest with just how nice it's been not to be constantly clock watching, not having to make sure we're on time for this and that and the other and allowing ourselves to just be

As you can see from the pictures 95% of our holiday was spent indoors, except for the one glorious day mid week where it snowed and snowed and snowed. Lily adores the snow whilst Arch wasn't so keen and so we kept him inside after giving him twenty minutes of exploring in it. It only dawned on me a couple of days ago that must be the first time he's experienced properly thick snow in his almost two little years of life and so it was probably kind of overwhelming for him. I think we were the lucky ones too as by the sounds of it no-one down south experienced a single snowflake! Good old up North! ;)

We've put down our tree now and is it weird to say I miss it already!? I'm not a huge fan of indoor photos (ones that I take I should say, I'm obsessed with other peoples!) but I feel like the Christmas tree and decs as a whole made my indoor pics look a whole heap prettier and so yeah, I'm mourning the loss a bit!

I hope you all had a lovely holiday spent with your loved ones and a happy new year to all!
