Weekend Watch 20.01.18

Monday 29 January 2018

This weekend was one of 'those' weekends. One of those weekends that you know are going to be a total write off before they've even properly started.

I can't even pin point what was wrong with me to be honest. A little bit of everything that's going on lately just eating away at me perhaps. But the long and short of it is that I woke up on Saturday morning with a pounding head and feeling so down in the dumps that I just didn't have it in me to participate in any of the plans for the day ahead.

I don't actually think there would be a weekend watch post at all this week if it hadn't been for a shift on Sunday that brought sunshine to my storm and changed my mood entirely.

There's a lot to be said for mother nature.

Snow.

I'm talking about the snow.

It came down out of nowhere on Sunday afternoon and covered everything like a blanket. It stayed just long enough for me James and the kids to have a jolly good time (as the cool folks say) before being washed away by the rain like it was never even there.

It pulled me out of my funk and set me back on two feet again.

It's weird, and hard to explain without finding myself sounding certifiably insane - but it felt like mother nature was giving me a nod. Giving me that 40 minutes of joy in the snow with my two, it was like she was saying its okay mama, I got yo back

Almost as though she giving me a gentle nudge to remind me of what I already know. There will always be beautiful, brilliant, spontaneous moments in life, even in amongst all the bad.

& while these photos may not be the best. The clearest, or the crispest or the most arty. They will always remind me of the delight and awe on my kids faces whilst they watched the snow come down.

They will always remind me of the day my storm gave way to sunshine.
