Week In Pictures #25 - Summer Holidays

Tuesday 7 August 2018

We're entering week three of the summer holidays and we're all still alive and in good spirits. Well, for the most part haha.

The days have mostly been long and lazy with a few busy ones thrown in there, but the majority of time has been spent at home in the garden or enjoying the sunshine in local spots.

One thing we've spent a lot of time doing this week, randomly enough, is fishing! We tried our luck at some of our nearby lakes after my mum dug out a couple of her old pound land fishing nets and it's been so much fun! It's oddly addictive, the excitement when you catch a fish haha and it totally takes me back to my own childhood as me and my younger brothers spent a lot of time fishing as kids too.

I think the one thing I'm going to remember the most about the summer of 2018 is this weather. It's been so hot for so long now, the grass is all burnt and dead and aside from that crazy 24 hour period of thunderstorms last week we've not seen a drop of rain in months. It feels like gloomy old yorkshire has had a personality transplant and summer is finally what is should be, sunny!

There's another three weeks left of the holidays to go and if this heatwave can last all the way up until September i'll be one happy mama.
