Harewood House is a great place for us to go when we want somewhere where we can make a day of it. There's so much to do, from the giant adventure playground and bird garden to the extensive grounds that take hours to explore. It's conveniently close for us too!

What we wore!

This weekend we took a trip to Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds, which is essentially the ruins of an old castle. Unfortunately we didnt realise last admissions was 3.30 and we arrived at quarter to 4 but luckily they still have some of the ruins outside (although you have to go through a gate to view the main stuff) and so lily spent a good 1hr and a half climbing  :)

Much joy ensued when Lily got to experience a ladybird on her hand for the first time ;)

Saturday

This Saturday was my cousins baby shower! I originally wasn't going to bring Lily along so I could have a few drinks and relax a bit but in the end I decided too because I knew she'd really enjoy it. Which she did! It was a great day and Hesta got some really great gifts, although it's super hard to find unisex clothes these days!

Sunday

On Sunday we took Lily over to James' parents who had just got back from holiday after being away fror a week.  James' sister was there too after getting back from her 3 week long holiday so it was quite the reunion! Lily was so pleased to see her little cousin Ava and they spent the afternoon giving eachother kisses and cuddles which was adorable to watch. My favourite part of the afternoon was when James' dad got the lawnmower out to mow the lawn and lily got SO excited, like it was the biggest treat in the world..we were in stitches!

How was your weekend?

So Lily's birthday is in 23 days and I'm so excited I've already ordered a ton of decorations for her party. As most have them have arrived now I thought I'd do a haul of what we've got.

As you can probably see, the theme we're going for is cute and kitschy (is that even a word?!) with lots of pastel colours. The cupcake stand I found at a jumble sale for the bargain price of 50p and the paper cups, straws, table covers and farmyard napkins I got on Amazon, all for a fraction of the price that they would be in the shops. The pastel buttons I also got on Amazon and the plan is to fill jam jars with them as part of the table decor. The 'Lily is 2 today' postcard and the number 2 will also be part of the table decor and I got these from two separate sellers from Not on the high street .  The floral bunting (Amazon) and personalised Lily bunting (NOTHS) will go on the wall above the food table, along with some pictures of Lily and the food flags (Amazon) will provide that extra touch to the buffet.

I'm really excited about decorating the house for her party and I just hope it ends up looking as good as it does in my head! Haha :)

What theme did you choose for your little ones party?
