This weekend has been a pretty average one.. we haven't done much to write about if I'm honest! On Saturday we stayed inside most of the day watching Disney films and building LOTS of Lego towers..we were planning on going out but the weather was rubbish and Lily already has a cold so we didn't really want to risk making it worse. That evening I went on my first night out in ages and had a really good time. I was a bit nervous about leaving James to put Lily to bed as she's being quite a madam with her sleeping at the moment but turns out I had nothing to worry about :)
I went to see a few old uni friends I havent seen for a good long while and honestly it was really nice to have a good old chin wag and a catch up. What I love about this bunch of people is that no matter how long I go without seeing them, when we do meet it feels like none of us have ever been away.
We went to 'The Botanist' - A cocktail bar in Trinity in Leeds that I've actually never been to before. It has a really nice quirky atmosphere to it and the drinks are insanely nice and not tooo pricey (although not exactly cheap either!)
By the time it got to midnight we were all ready for bed (it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's a granny these days!) and so we made our way home. It was really nice to go out in town after not being out for so long but equally nice that I still managed to get home at a reasonable time and therefore didn't have to spend the next day hungover and exhausted trying to look after my crazy toddler with a pounding head! It really was the best of both worlds!
