24 Week Update

Tuesday 27 October 2015

24 weeks ...how has that happened!? 24 weeks means the baby is officially 'viable' now which is nice to know (as much as I hate that term)

This week I've been having seerious bladder issues haha. I just need to pee every 2 seconds and it's stopping me from sleeping at night. I think it's because the baby is so low down at the moment, the kicks I'm feeling are literally at bladder level and it constantly feels like h/she is about to drop out of me and I don't remember Lily feeling that low..its an uncomfortable feeling to say the least.

Another horrible symptom I've had for a while but seems to be getting worse and worse is restless leg syndrome. If you haven't heard about it you can read about it here. Lucky for me it is only a pregnancy symptom and it dissapears as soon as I've had the baby (or it did with Lily anyway) but it's just the absolute worst! I have to physically tie my feet down to stop them from jumping about which sounds funny but really is so frustrating.

I've booked my next midwife appointment for the 10th Nov so that's something to look forward to. I think they start measuring my bump from this appt onwards and it will be interesting to see if I'm measuring big because I'm feeling absolutely massive. Weight gain currently stands at 22lbs..that's over a stone and a half eek! Hopefully it will start slowing down a bit soon but if not oh well, I'll just have to deal with it!

I've found myself really wondering about the gender this week too. I'd sort of put it out of my mind up till now as I didn't want to get too tempted to find out but now that the 20 week scan has been and gone and I know I wont cave in I cant stop wondering what gender this little one is! With Lily I was completely convinced she was a boy so I know my 'mothers intuition' is rubbish haha. But to be honest I dont have any strong feelings either way this time round, I'm changing my mind minute to minute! Although I'm so desperate to do some baby clothes shopping that isn't unisex I'm still so pleased with our decision to keep it a suprise this time..bring on February!
