Archers Six Month Update

Friday 12 August 2016

Here we are halfway through your first year of life Archer, it's gone so fast! 6 months comes with so many milestones - weaning, sitting, speech development and I can't believe we're at this stage already.

We started weaning Arch at exactly 6 months and I feel like since we started weaning him he's been a lot happier in general. He's loving finger foods, mainly toast, cucumber and pitta bread although he's been a bit iffy with the purees and has basically been shuddering and spitting it out up until today when he did a 360, finally deciding he liked it and grabbing the spoon off me to put it in himself!

Sleeping has been miles better too. Although getting him down in the evening is a massive struggle he's slept through a few more times and has generally only been waking once a night for the past week or so. Fingers crossed it stays that way! Naps are still a bit of a struggle as he'll only fall asleep on me and it's like he has to fuss for ages before he'll actually take a nap. I'd like to get him to nap in his cot so I can get things done whilst he sleeps but so far only mummy's arms will do. Tips anyone!?

He's started making new noises too (mainly "ah!" "ah!" "ah!") which is making me and James laugh! I can't remember exactly when Lily started sitting although I remember it was somewhere in month six but Arch doesn't seem to be there at all yet as he just topples over straight away!

So other than the weaning and sleeping a bit better there's not much to report for this month in terms of milestones (no teeth yet either!) although I will say that he's such a smiley boy and I feel like as the days go by he's becoming more and more chilled.
