This is the first month in god knows how long I've had photos with me in to actually post. I've made a conscious effort to get in photos with the kids lately stemming from my realisation that I had more or less no photos of me and archer together. Not even grainy selfies! and no recent ones of me and Lily either.
I weigh a heck of a lot more now than I did pre Arch and I've not been happy with my appearance for a long time and so I think I just unconsciously made sure to stay behind the camera in the past year. But not being entirely happy with the way I look shouldn't stop me from being in photos with my kids. They're not going to notice, or care, when they look back at these pictures. And the fact that my own insecurities could stop my children from having photographic memories of me after I'm gone makes my heart break a little. And so I'm glad I've had the realisation sooner rather than later.
I'm also glad that I happen to have had this realisation whilst its still just about summer as it means we've managed to capture some nice outdoor photos this month which probably wont be possible in the months to come.
These photos were taken on one a lovely weekend trip around Meanwood and are some of my faves. Even if Archer was doing a whole load of refusing to walk that day. I remember my back was killing 😂
The photo of us all bent down over the pond that James captured makes me laugh. It looks like some sort of cheesy album cover, haha.
These photos were taken really early on in August and mean a lot to me. Not only because it was one of my favourite days out of the whole summer but also because I actually got Lily to stand still for a photo! Isn't she beautiful? I often feel bad that Archer features in photos so much more than Lily does, but she just does not stay still for long enough! So I'm counting these photos as a win!
My brother actually took these photos for me. We came across a pretty new woods and so I handed him my camera and asked him to get a few snaps. I've had to sharpen the images as they're a little out of focus but other than that I'm really pleased with how they came out.
