Weekend Watch - 14.10.17

I feel like its not one of my weekend watch posts unless one of us is poorly and this weekend is no different. This time it's Archers turn and boy has he been a delight. Sarcasm do you hear me?

It's probably been a long time coming for this little one to be honest. He hasn't been under the weather for absolutely agggges so he's been well over due a turn. And virus' just don't like to leave a member of the household out do they? They're all about equality. 🙄

The docs confirmed he has an eye infection and he looks terrible with it, red watering blood shot eye complete with runny nose and temperature. However we didn't let it hold us back this weekend, only adjusting our plans slightly by bringing the stroller with us where we normally wouldn't have bothered and luckily Arch perked up when we got outdoors.

The kids loved playing in the woodland, they always do, and it constantly surprises me the amount of wooded areas there are tucked away in and around Leeds.  This particular one is right next to a main road but feels like it's own little haven the further you get in. The traffic dies down and moss starts spreading across the ground and it's beautiful. Or it was beautiful until we came across the mangled carcus of a hare that had clearly been quite recently eaten by a fox. Blood everywhere and Lily's morbid fascination towards the poor creature  as me and james tried to shield her from it, asking if she could look just one more time, pleeease, had me in hysterics.

I didn't take any photos on Sunday apart from these few on my phone. These were taken in the morning on the way to Asda (how mundane) but I adore how they get across the way that they are with each other.

Archers poorly-ness had really gone up a notch by lunchtime om Sunday though and so much of the early afternoon was spent having poorly cuddles on the sofa. Next weekend is our last chance to get the house cleared before we have family over for Lily's birthday the following week so everything crossed that Arch is back to his usually self again by then.

  1. It's funny how we trying and protect children, but they find things fascinating. I found a mangled rabbit in a deadend of the maze at Blenheim Palace. I stopped my daughter going that way, but when I told her why she insisted on looking!

    1. When I was a kid I would have hated to see a dead animal, kids these days are just fearless! (and slightly odd ha) x
