Plagiocephaly Awareness Day + BabyMoov Lovenest review

Monday 4 April 2016

Did you know that today is Plagiocephaly awareness day?

Plagiocephaly or 'flat head syndrome' as it's often referred to occurs when infants spend excessive periods of time lying or resting in the same position - positions such as the cot, car seat or baby bouncer. This is a condition that is very real with recent research suggesting that as much as 47% of babies are affected.

These statistics worry me somewhat as like any baby of the same age Archer at 9 weeks old will spend most of his time in the same position. Luckily we were sent the Lovenest baby pillow by babymoov to help alleviate any plagiocephaly fears.

This pillow is designed especially for babies up to 4 months (there is a 4 month+ option too) and will pro actively prevent flat head syndrome from occurring. It works by being specially shaped to ensure pressure is evenly distributed over your babies head which in turn helps to maintain the natural curvature of the skull. Babymoov also state that the Lovenest is made out of breathable fabrics and works to ensure good ventilation during sleep.

Archer will happily lie on his lovenest  for ages so I know he's comfy and I no longer have to worry about the amount of time he spends laying down affecting his head shape.
If you have a young baby I would highly recommend this product, it's more than worth it for peace of mind. Babymoov have several other products designed for preventing flat head syndrome and a great range of other baby necessities. You can find these via their website babymoov.co.uk.
