Autumn Raincoats From Lighthouse | Blogmas Day 2

Friday 2 December 2016

"The Lighthouse philosophy is all about inspiring our inner adventurer of the simple everyday, whether that’s through woodland wanderings, a breezy coastal walk or a countryside stroll. The Lighthouse AW16 collection is crafted to keep you toasty for Autumnal adventures through leaf scattered forests or chilly conker hunts with your be-mittened little adventurers. Incorporating cosy new fabrics, authentic hand drawn prints and reliable, highly waterproof features - you can enjoy the simple pleasures of an Autumn stroll or spending a few quiets moments to yourself on a park bench."

A company with this motto is a company I'm on board with! Seriously. As soon as I saw this slogan I knew they were speaking to my soul.

If you take a look through my blog it will be clear to see how much we as a family love going on walks. Yep, we're one of those families - we love a good walk come rain or shine. When Lighthouse clothing contacted me to review one of their AW16 raincoats it couldn't have come at a better time. The weather is getting so cold, I'm looking at the frost on the window ledge as I type this, and I've been stuck in my thin and very worn primark coat for a good while now. I'm a person who feels the cold really easily as well, it drives James a little insane as I'm forever moaning about wanting the heating on and as such I've struggled with finding a coat that keeps me sufficiently warm. Until now!

We took Lily and Archer for a wander through our local woods this weekend on what was apparently the coldest day of the year so far and I was bowled over by just how toasty I remained for the entire walk. Lily on the other hand whined the whole trip about how cold she was so I'm thinking I might invest in one of Lighthouse' coats for her too as they also do a childrens range.

Being honest I've never really been a massive fan of raincoats. I've always thought of them as being thin and scratchy and frankly rather un-fashionable (and we all know how much fashion matters when you're traipsing through the mud in the winter with two screaming kids..internal eyeroll) but the lighthouse designs I absolutely ADORE. Suddenly raincoats are cool!
For a start many of the website range feature shearling lining, what I believe may have been the secret to my warmth. Then there's the designs themselves which are so versatile but all equally appealing. From floral print to capes and coats with a rustic edge lighthouse seem to have covered it all.

I'm totally won over and I'm sure you will be too.
