Weekend Watch - A much needed lazy day | Blogmas Day 10

Saturday 10 December 2016

So I don't have the energy to type any sort of in depth post today I have to say. I'm poorly, shivery and achy with a horrible head cold but Blogmas I wont let you down I promise! I'm currently sat on the sofa watching the Xfactor final (it's pants) with a cup of lemsip and working on a scrapbook I've been doing for my auntie who isn't very well.

I've had a little think about what to write about for today's post and whilst I've got a few ideas floating around they'll have to wait for later days when I'm less exhausted. I've decided instead to post a few photos of our day in the form of a Weekend Watch post as it's been what feels like a lifetime since I've written one of these.

Not only have I been under the weather this week but Lily is too. I can't help but feel guilty when I know that it's something she's caught off me. Sorry bugs! That's why she isn't featuring in any of these photos. She's spent more or less the entire day cuddled up on the sofa alternating between dozing and watching cartoons.
Archer on the other hand has been full of beans. He's spent most of today sat by the christmas tree pulling off the baubles which is apparently the funnest game ever. I can't say I'm too bothered by it - whatever keeps him amused. The pink broom you can see in his hands also happens to be his new favourite toy. It was bought for Lily's birthday about two years ago and for some reason he just LOVES it. Wherever he goes the broom must go with him. And god help you if you try and take it away from him. He's even figured out that he can use it to get down baubles from the higher branches of the christmas tree..little menace!

We had a brainwave and retrieved some of Lily's old baby toys out from the loft earlier this afternoon. They were a bit dusty but otherwise perfectly useable and Arch was in toy heaven. It must've felt like christmas day for him! It's hard to believe that Lily was once the pudgy smiley little baby sat infront of these toys. I wish I had clearer memories of that time. Once all the toys were down and thoroughly cleaned Lily decided to set them all up in the corner of our front room and pretend it was a playgroup, bless her.
So it's been the ultimate lazy day and it's been just what the doctor ordered. It's made me realise we should have them more often. I love being outdoors and I love having plans but quiet days in with the family doing a whole heap of nothing are really under rated. That being said I'm hoping Lily will wake up feeling much better in the morning as we have a busy day planned for tommorow. She has a friends birthday party followed by christmas carols and fireworks in the park. I may even pick up the camera and vlog if I can find the energy!
