Shopping Small - Behind the Business with Another Fox

As a serial 'small shopper' I decided to start a new series focusing on different small businesses by chatting to the often over looked faces behind them. Not only is it lovely to learn more about the businesses that I purchase from regularly it's also a great way of recommending these exceptional small shops to the wider parenting blogger community.

This week I have been chatting to Andie from Another Fox. I have been shopping with Another Fox for a long looong time and having worked with Andie in the past I can vouch for just what a friendly, helpful and upbeat person she is. I have seen Another Fox grow through its many gorgeous collections, from botanicals to a celestial space age theme to her current 'other world' collection which I think is my favourite so far.

Tell me a bit about yourself:

I’m Andie, Owner of Another Fox kidswear brand and a full time mum to Freddie who is 2 years old. I’m also a wifey & I have a cat called Tilly! I’m originally from the North east, but I moved to London to kick start my buying career about 11 years ago after finishing uni. I worked in buying for Topman & Ted baker before giving it up to concentrate on growing Another Fox!

Tell us about Another Fox?

Another Fox is a British clothing brand for babies & kids. The brand was created to offer something that is not available on the high street. Our vision was to step away from conventional stereotypical kids wear and offer a collection of considered cool pieces that even the parents would want to wear.

How did you come up with the name?

I wanted to create an edgy brand name that reflects the personality of the product, but keeping it simple. I love the name Fox, its catchy and its also my sons middle name so thought this would be nice personal touch to the brands identity.

Who or what inspires you?

Each collection is inspired by a trend and is delivered through graphics & bold use of colour. As prints form most of the collection, I spend a great deal of time researching and sourcing the best graphics to fit each trend. The abstract graphics are quite classic and I update and run these each season, and the trend print is where I can be a lot more creative. For AW18 we have just launched a hand drawn Paranormal 'monster' repeat print, the hand drawn look is a lot more simple and considered compared to the usual cartoon-like prints you get on the high street!

Its also important to me that the collection is gender neutral, so I ensure my use of fits and colour cater to both boys & girls!
