Sundown Adventure Land at Christmas

Tuesday 22 December 2015

We go to Sundown every christmas, it's become a bit of a tradition. Sundown go all out at christmas which is what I really like and I always come away from it feeling really festive. Last year when we took Lily she was excited yes, but still a bit too young to understand the whole christmas theme. This year though she absolutely LOVED it and was in awe at everything she saw and it made for the most magical day.

So excited to have arrived

 Train ride

My favourite part of Sundown at christmas is the santa sleigh ride which is the most detailed christmas ride ever. It takes you straight to santas house and outside his front door which you then have to knock on to be let in by an elf who will lead you to the man himself in his living room! Lily promised she wouldn't be shy when she saw him but as soon as we entered the room she hid behind my legs bless her. He was a good santa though and soon got her laughing by telling her he was going to have to get the bus home tonight because his cheeky reindeer had stolen his sleigh! It does make a difference when the santas are actually good with the children and we managed to get this picture which I really like. At least both of us are smiling even if she is shying away from him!

Real life reindeer

The Wizard of Oz' yellow brick road

The very last ride of the day that we went on was a water ride. Right at the end of the ride we all got sprayed in the face by an octopus which Lily thought was hilarious, she hasn't stopped going on about it since ha

The beautiful christmas Market Square

Ticket price per person ranges between £11 and £15 depending if you go on or off peak. This includes full access to the entire theme park, 2 christmas rides, and a visit to santa complete with a present and live reindeer, So so worth it in my eyes. The only downside for us was that the place is so big that we ran out of time and didn't get to go on everything. We arrived at 12 and it shut at 4 - clearly 4 hours just isn't enough, there's that much to do!

I'm just the biggest fan of Sundown and I can't wait to go back with both kids next christmas. Probably in summer too!
