Weekend Watch - The Last Days Before Christmas

Wednesday 23 December 2015

Lily finished nursery on Wednesday and James finished work on Friday and has two weeks off so over the past few days we've been getting lots of family time in during the run up to Christmas.
I thought I'd post a few pictures of what we've been up to over the past few days as (like always) I've been a bit snap happy!

We've been doing tons of Christmas crafts over the last few days. Crafting is one of my favourite things to do around this time of year for sure. I'm not the craftiest mum in the world, I just get ideas and run with them! Rather than having crafts with a perfect Pintrest worthy end result I much rather Lily just does whatever she wants to do, even if her version of the perfect christmas card is just one giant scribble haha. In this picture she's making her grandparents a homemade photo stand out of an old wooden menu stand which she had great fun doing. Hopefully I'll get a DIY post up for it in the next few days!

Pinching baubles off the tree when she thinks I'm not looking. Honestly I don't know why I bother!

After an awful nights sleep on Saturday night Lily woke up with a temperature and complaining of ear ache on Sunday morning. We took her to the walk in clinic who confirmed it as an ear infection and she was so miserable that we thought we wouldn't be able to take her on the Santa Express ride we'd booked for her. She perked up by the end of the day though so we decided to risk it and take her. I thought the train ride itself was a bit rubbish. We'd booked it for evening time and so the view out of the window was just pitch black. and to be honest I thought they might have put christmas lights up for the journey but nope! The meeting of santa was good though and Lily got a minnie mouse toy from him which she was totally chuffed with.

This bunny has been all Lily wants whilst she's been poorly.

On Tuesday we went for a walk to collect some holly branches to spray paint when we got home. It didn't take long to collect them as there's holly bushes everywhere in our local park so we ended up playing lots of games of hide and seek!

This morning (Wednesday) started with a GTT test at the hospital. The sugary drink wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though, it just sort of tasted like powerade.  The test took about 2 hours so we left Lily with James sister who took her along to her dentist appt. It was the first time Lily's been in the dentist and apparently she was fascinated. The dentist even checked her mouth and gave her a sticker for perfect teeth!

This afternoon we went for a walk round the park which rounded the day off nicely. I can't believe christmas eve is tommorow! I can't wait for Lily's excitement and to leave out mince pies and carrots for santa and rudolf before we put her to bed. These are the moments I treasure.
