Review - MyBuddy-Box

Monday 2 February 2015

I don't know about anyone else but I can safely say for myself that weekly (or in our case fortnightly) food shops are a complete nightmare.  Lily whines the whole way round and wants everything off the shelf, we buy far too much stuff and always forget at least one important item off the shopping list and have to go back..oh and then there's the many trips to and from the car with our bags of food. I honestly feel like I'm about to collapse by the end of a shopping trip!

MyBuddy-Box is marketed as an improved, permanent and reliable way of transporting groceries as well as an alternative option for consumers for when the plastic bag tax comes in.
When a MyBuddy-Box landed on my doorstep yesterday morning my first thought was that I was pleasantly surprised by the overall look. It has a cute design that reminds me of a jewellery box I had when I was little and is compact, light weight and easy to open out thanks to the poppers on either side. It also comes in several other designs along with plain colours such as black and navy for any of you manly men out there who are not so keen on flowers and birds! ;)

Upon opening the box out I must admit that I thought it looked a little flimsy and that it may struggle to hold some of our heavier items (such as the gallons of milk that my strange partner buys and consumes every week!) However I was mistaken. The box is actually a lot stronger than I first thought and holds about the same amount of 5 or 6 of our heavier plastic bags (in excess of 20 kg according to the website.) It also has two hand holds at either side making it both easier and comfier to carry.

The only thing I would say is that if you are like me and do massive fortnightly shops then you're likely to need 2 boxes instead of 1 as most but not all of our food fit inside. However that is still a big difference to the 15 or so plastic bags we were carrying after each shopping trip and it really was a relief not to have to make several trips back and forth from the car.

The website also states that a MyBuddy-Box has several uses..well it sure does, Lily spent hours this morning pretending it was a boat for her toys!

The MyBuddy-Box costs £14.99 and be found here. If you are interested please contact me for a discount code.
