Weekend Watch - 15.08

Monday 17 August 2015

This weekends been a pretty even balance of being hectic and being lazy. Saturday was busy busy busy and Sunday we did sweet F all!

On Saturday we set off early for a little road trip to Manchester to go and see James' sisters new house. It was a bit touch and go as to whether I'd be able to come what with the sickness still being ever present but in a last minute moment of madness I decided I'd join them and just deal with any unpleasant consequences. So armed with my anti sickness tablets, travel bands, a bottle of Lucozade and many plastic bags we set off on our merry way.

I have to say I definitely made the right decision in deciding to go as Saturday actually ended being a day where I felt the best I'd felt in a long while. The nausea and tiredness was still there but nowhere near as overwhelming as it usually is and it just so happened to be the first vomit free day in a long while. Of course I paid for it on Sunday ha but such is life.

We arrived at Laura's at about midday after being stuck in motorway traffic for an age <_< She gave us the grand tour of her new house and all I can say is I've never seen a house like it in my life. Imagine your dream house, if you were a millionaire, and then some. Lucky her!

We went to the local pub for some pub lunch not long after arriving and I have to say it was the most gorgeous place. A very old building with vintage decor and high beams and a shabby chic style barn attached. The food was amazing too but it was the kind of place that had such an extravagant menu that when I asked if the chef would be able to just make Lily a plain cheese sandwich the sandwich arrived with the poshest/stinkiest cheese known to man. So of course Lily wasn't too impressed and refused to eat it haha.

After lunch we went to Dunham Massey, a lovely deer park with a beautiful old military hospital in the centre. I wish we'd had more time there actually as I'd have loved to explore the building itself but we didn't stay for too long as the kids were getting tired. We did see some deer though which was ace as they really are the most beautiful creatures.

I don't have too much to say about Sunday, it was the ultimate lazy day. Not really by choice though as we'd been hoping to take Lily for a walk but as soon as I woke up I knew it was going to be a day where sickness got the better of me. I was kind of disappointed as I sort of built Saturday up in my head as the turning point for my hyperemesis, what with it being my first day of no vomiting but I think I'd over done it that day with all the walking etc and my body was basically playing catch up.

James took Lily out to do the weekly shop at about midday and my dad and brother popped in for a coffee mid afternoon but not much of any interest happened in between. We did get Lily to sit through half of Shrek the Movie without complaining though, success! & after a long splash in the bath and a hearty meal of cheese and tomato risotto she was out like a light.

Here's preying that by next weekends write up the hyperemesis will be much improved if not gone for good..and I can actually start doing things with my weekend again! FX'd.
