Our Christmas decs are finally up! I swear I've been waiting for this day since we took them all down last January haha. I'm a huge fan of this time of year and love embracing all things Christmas so when Ocean Loans offered to fund my Christmas decs spree this year I absolutely jumped at the chance!
Last year our decs went up straight after bonfire night (yes really!) so if anything we've been a bit behind this year but this weekend has been a quiet one and so seemed like the perfect time to transform our living room and I'm so pleased with the end result.
I wanted a more rustic Christmas theme this year and found myself gravitating towards wooden decorations, many of which I found in Wilkinsons who do an amazing Christmas range. Last year I boxed up all of Lily's handmade Christmas decorations as I love the idea of getting them out every single Christmas and adding to them each year. She made some great ones last year and I'm looking forward to doing more crafting with her this December too.
There's something about Lily's age this year that makes everything feel much more special. She's intuitive about everything to do with christmas time and her excitement is infectious. Of course this will be our last christmas as a family of three too and although Lily doesn't realise this yet, I want it to be a christmas that both her, myself and James will always remember.
Now that the decs are up and the living room has been transformed into a cosy winter haven I don't want to leave the house! I've just got in from the freezing cold nursery run and my warm and welcoming living room has enveloped me into its open arms. The fire is on and the Christmas lights are twinkling at me, everything just feels perfect.
