Hello March

Wednesday 1 March 2017

'March came in that winter like the meekest and mildest of lambs, bringing days that were crisp and golden and tingling.'

I should probably start by saying that in my attempt to be more productive when it comes to my blog this year I've decided to start a monthly 'hello...' series. Basically where by at the start of each month I'll either talk about or list any goals/plans for the month ahead. Then at the end of each month I can look back at this post and see whether the month has gone the way I wanted it to. I may turn it in to a linky if there's enough interest (or if it's not already been done?) and hopefully having set aims for each month, seeing them there in black and white in front of me will help me in being more productive. But as the master of procrastination, we will see!

I'm looking forward to March in a way I've not for the months of January and February.
I think probably because I have actual solid plans this month where as both Jan and Feb have been pretty lacklustre. I've talked in recent posts about my lethargy and how I've lacked enough energy to do much of anything and I've been thinking recently about what I can do to combat that. Which brings me on to my first March goal.

Take up vlogging again

Since having Archer I've found myself vlogging less and less to the point where I've come to the realisation that actually, I don't vlog at all anymore. It's a shame because I have genuinely always loved picking up the camera and filming and it used to be like second nature to me. I have such nice footage of Lily as a baby and I feel sad that aside from the odd few monthly updates, I don't have that for Arch. & when I think of the G7x I saved up for the best part of a year for..now sitting on the bookshelf gathering dust..I quite frankly feel a little ill, haha. So basically my goal this month when it comes to vlogging is simply - Must. Try. Harder. I figure it will help with the lethargy too, if I'm telling myself I'm filming on certain days then I HAVE to make an effort and I HAVE to leave the house and make plans..so hopefully I'll be killing two birds with one stone (how rank is that saying? :/) by diving head first back in to filming and getting the motivation to keep any lethargy at bay.

De clutter

Goal number 2 is strictly house related and it's one that can't be avoided any longer. Lily's birthday falls around Halloween then of course shortly after Halloween comes Christmas and then January is Archers birthday, so we more or less see the kids receive a whole years worth of toys in the space of 3 and a half months. By February our house is pretty much full to the brim with new Christmas and birthday toys and so a clear out is desperately needed these days. I was actually quite good and started sorting everything out a few weeks ago and whilst there's still a way to go we do currently have 5 full bin bags of toys upstairs ready and waiting to head off to the charity shop.I also have a heck of a lot of baby clothes in the cupboards that will no longer be used so as much as it pains me to see them go I plan to do an Instagram sale this month to hopefully get rid of the main bulk of them.

Enjoy our time away

James had some holiday from work left to take and so we recently booked a week away for the last week of March and I cannot flipping wait. It's at a cottage in Filey, one we stayed in a few years back and loved, and I'm so looking forward to being near sea air again. There's something about being by the sea that I find so relaxing. It's good for the soul.
Lily was only six or seven months older than Archer when we last took her to this cottage which blows my mind a little when I think about it and I know she's going to appreciate it even more this time round. Archer may or may not be walking by then too and it will be his first holiday, eek.
So my main goal for that week is to put all thoughts of home out of my mind, to just relax and enjoy the time with my little tribe.

Do you have many goals for March? If so would you be interested in sharing them as part of a linky?

  2. I'm with you on the need to de-clutter and sort the toys! My little dude's birthday is in March and we've just about managed to get the Christmas toys into his room 😕

    1. It's so hard when birthdays and christmas are close together! I'm constantly wishing we had a playroom so we didn't have to find space x

  3. I need to find my vlogging mojo, I had a bit of hate on a really popular video that I did on there and it's made me a bit wimpy about doing more ... I need to really improve my filming skills too though eek definite goal for me this year.
