Weekend Watch - Nature Reserves and Poorly Toddlers

Sunday 6 August 2017

I'm typing post mid card game with Lil so this post might be a little all over the place (she's just stormed off in a huff because she's losing 😂)
I haven't managed to find the time to do a weekend watch post in a while and I miss them. It makes me a little sad thinking about all those forgotten weekends that have gone undocumented. So this is me making a conscious effort to get back in to it, even if it means fitting it in between a game of cards with my sassy daughter.

Luckily I have a lot of photographs for you from this weekend as we've managed to get out and about a lot.
There's no exaggeration when I say the past few days have been the first few non rainy days in weeks. And so like most Brits I'd imagine we've been trying to make the most of it.

Friday myself and the kids went to Meanwood Park. It was one of those days where the kids were b o r e d and staying in the house just wasn't going to cut it. Lily slept awfully the night before (because of a dream about a giant hairy spider, I despair) and so she was soo over-tired the next day. Not even climbing trees and the parks free bouncy castle could cheer her up, although Archer loved it.

Archer's mustard coloured romper is a new purchase from H&M and I LOVE it. All the heart eyes!

We went back to my parents after the park where the kids had great fun playing. I say it all the time but my parents is like a wonderland for children (my mum is a childminder!) and so the kids adore being there.

Some garden play at my parents

On Saturday myself and James took the kids to a nature reserve in Adel I've been wanting to visit for ages after coming across it on google. It didn't disappoint, it was BEAUTIFUL. A gigantic lake on the edge of an amazingly tucked away forest. I'm so glad we found it, we'll definitely be regular visitors now.

My failed attempt to get a photo with my son..and this is why I never bother!

Talking about where the fairies might live

Today is Sunday and tbh I'm living in the memories of the previous two days because Archer is sick. He was fine all yesterday as you can see from the photos, and then last night he developed a temperature and has been worse for wear ever since. Poor little guy. It will be doctors for us tomorrow if he's still like this in the morning. I'm relieved we managed to get two nice days together before the poorlyness hit though. And if one goes down in this household we all go down, so lets see who'll be next..!

  3. These photographs are beautiful. I love how even the ones at home with toys in the background look amazing. I always think my house is too messy for photo's but it appears I just don't have the composition skills
