Out of all the rooms in our house, our bedroom is the one I've wanted to do up for the longest. Whilst Lily's room is completely finished and the living room is on its way to completion, the bedroom still remains largely untouched. I'm not really sure why to be honest, I guess it's just a mixture of a lack of funds, a lack of time and other priorities within the house. However now that we've been living in this house for almost 2 years I've decided it's about time I create a space for myself that I can relax in and feel proud of.

My Dream Bedroom

This week's Friday Favourites comes from a HUGE 'Not on the High Street' haul that took place a few evenings ago. The website, which just so happens to be one of my favourites, had a massive sale on which ended up being great news for me but bad news for my bank card haha. I spent literally an entire evening online shopping but the sale was so good I managed to get some of Lily's birthday presents, my cousins anniversary gift and even a few Christmas presents so now I feel totally organised ;) I wont show it all in this post as it would take forever to blog about, but I will show you some of my favourite purchases.

Friday Favourites #3

Friday 24 July 2015

This topic is a topic I go back and forth with numerous times a week.

When children turn three they get fifteen free hours from the government to go to a nursery, play scheme or child minder. However the way it works is that it's the term after you turn three unless you have circumstantial reasons for your child to go sooner.

Child’s birthdayWhen you can claim
1 January to 31 Marchthe beginning of term on or after 1 April
1 April to 31 Augustthe beginning of term on or after 1 September
1 September to 31 Decemberthe beginning of term on or after 1 January
This means that Lily will be a little over 3 and 2 months when she gets her free hours which I'll be honest feels like a long time to wait when I feel like she's ready now. We could of course pay nursery fees until January, and this is something we might still do, but nursery fees are expensive and I have my own reasons for wanting Lily in a Primary School based nursery and they generally don't accept children before they turn three.

Last night I sat down and made a list of all the reasons for and against having Lily go to nursery now.

Should Lily be going to nursery yet? Airing my thoughts

This weekend has been what I would class quite simply as a good one. A nice weekend. An unusually stress free weekend. A jolly good weekend at that.

These type of weekends have been quite few and far between recently because of my health, my migraines in particular, so I really appreciated having a weekend that I really enjoyed this week.

The 52 Project - 26/52 & 27/52

Saturday 11 July 2015

This weeks Friday Favourites feature some old and new products.

I want to start off with my current favourite which is this suitcase style tin in a woodland theme that I'm just obsessed with. I found this in Home Bargains and loved it straight away. The woodland theme is so up my street and these tins are perfect for the 'suitcase stacking' which seems to be so popular in childrens bedrooms at the moment. It was about around Christmas time that I picked this up so I'm not sure if they still sell them but hopefully they do! There was a few other themed tins too including a lovely purple one with birds on that I also picked up, so lots of designs to choose from and for £2 each you cant really go wrong.

Friday Favourites #2

These pictures made me cry-laugh when I first saw them on James' camera. Ah cousinly love! It just sums up their relationship so well. Ava clearly wanted a go on the trampoline and Lily wasn't relinquishing hahaha oh I do love them!

Wicked Wednesdays #2

Wednesday 8 July 2015

Sorry I'm a few days behind with this months Mummy & Me. The 'real world' has really gotten to me this week and I'm behind with everything ;) We've had some great weather this month and although we haven't done much - playing in the garden and going to the local park seems to have been enough for everyone. As I'm typing this there's a thunderstorm going out right outside my window.. so I have to say I'm not sure how good the weather is going to be for July but oh well.

The top picture was taken last weekend on a particularly hot Saturday. If I remember rightly we were on our way to go and get milkshakes! The bottom two photos are from the weekend before when we went for a long walk through the woods. It was a really muggy day and Lily insisted on bringing her dolly with her who I then ended up having to carry for 90% of the journey haha
