Weekend Watch - A weekend of sun

Friday 14 April 2017

Last weekend most of the UK was hit by a little mini heatwave and boy did we make the most of it. I meant to write this up sooner to be honest, but it's been one of those weeks and I'm only just getting round to it now. In typical UK style all good weather lasted no longer than 48 hours and this week we're back to being cold and grey and so I'm so glad we got out and made the best of it whilst we had the chance.

I haven't taken many photos I've really liked for a while now, but some of these picture I do really like and they're fast becoming my faves. I like that you can really get a sense from the pictures of just how hot it was. Not just for the fact that the kids are in shorts and dresses but also the general warm tones of the pictures themselves. Such a nice change to all the grey and miserable photos I feel like I've been taking for the past six months.

We went to a place called Temple Neusam in Leeds. Actually where me and my younger brothers spent a lot of time as kids too. It has all sorts from flower gardens and woodland trails to a farm and adventure playground and it's quite easy to spend the entire day there.

We took a picnic, a feast of kings, (seriously we raided tesco before hand!) and ate it all on the grass before having a little wander. Both the kids were happy, me & James were happy and for once I felt like this is the way things could be moving forward. It was one of the best days I've had in ages.

We're hoping to go back again soon, possibly this bank holiday Monday, to do one of longer woodland walks and I'm really looking forward to it. It's nice to feel the joy in walking again after so long.
