The 52 Project - 25/52

Wednesday 24 June 2015

Today will be my boyfriends third fathers day spent as a father and its gone so quickly that sometimes I cant just can't comprehend it in my mind. I honestly don't want this to just sound like a braggy type of post but I couldn't ask for anyone better to help me raise my daughter. I feel like we're such a good team and we more or less have this parenting thing down now!

I'd be lying if I said during my pregnancy I didn't have any worries about what James would be like as a father, because lets be honest, no student in their early twenties is going to be pre-equipped with the tools to handle parenthood. Especially one who has no experience with being around children whatsoever. But from the second James held our daughter for the first time, any worries I had just completely disappeared. From the very first moment of Lily's birth it was clear to see that she was his absolute world and she has been ever since day one.

Oh Friday..I thought you'd never come round this week, but you did, and I'm so glad your here!
This weeks Friday Favourites has unintentionally ended up being all home decor items..so I guess if homeware isn't your thing then don't feel like you have to click on 'read more' (although go on..you know you want to..;-)

My first Friday favourite is this gorgeous pastel coloured felt garland from Paper Doily. I was so pleased when this arrived today and I opened it to see that it looked exactly like it did on the website. Sometimes I can be a bit wary about ordering items like these online as they arrive and the colours can be a bit off but the colours on this are absolutely perfect and complement Lily's little shelf so well! Check out Paper Doily's blog (linked above) as she does some great party tutorials too!

If you're anything at all like me you don't eat little and often, you just eat often! I'm a snacker and I always have been but small snacks just don't fill me up. I like to use all 15 of my syns on Slimming world so I'm not left feeling hungry and I usually calculate in advance how many syns I'll have left over at the end of the day and plan my snacks from there.

These photographs sum up Lily's mood lately. Tantruming alllll over the shop, day in day out! Terrible two's anyone?! This particular tantrum occurred because I threw her the ball and she didn't manage to catch it. So of course the natural thing to do in Lily's eyes was to go and plonk herself on the rockery and refuse to get up for a rather long period of time. You've got to laugh ey!

Wicked Wednesdays - 17th June

Wednesday 17 June 2015

I've spoken on my blog about InstaNatural's products before and how impressed I am with them and so I was delighted when this lovely company got in contact to see if I wanted to review their new Vitamin C Facial Toner.

I've mentioned before that my skin can get easily irritated but I've found so far that my skin copes really well with InstaNatural's facial products, including this particular toner.

Looking so angelic, all in white. Although she's been anything but an angel this week let me tell you! ;)

The 52 Project - 24/52

Tuesday 16 June 2015

My parents are legends. They're quite simply one in a million, the pair of them. I honestly couldn't ask for more caring and doting grandparents. They show Lily an unwavering amount of love and affection and in return Lily gives them so much adoration.

I snapped this photo of Lily yesterday at my parents house. We arrived at their house and no-one was in and Lily was beyond devastated, the poor kid! After about 10 minutes of waiting we heard the sound of a car door shutting which indicated Nanny's return. Lily shot to the window shouting 'NANNY! IT'S MY NANNY!' and the pure excitement on her face was so lovely to see.

I love how present my parents are in my daughters life, I know a lot of children don't get to see their grandparents often as they live so far away and so I'm extremely grateful for the connection Lily has with hers.

Lily's Love for her Grandparents

Monday 15 June 2015

I've recently been looking at car shoots for Lily. As a lover of cars, Lily has an entire box full of toy ones and she loves pretending to race them around the room. I recently went to the Argos website on the hunt for something like this, what is essentially a slide for Lily to put her cars down. However I have to admit seeing the price really put me off!

After talking to my mum she had the genius idea of making a DIY car shoot for Lily and for the children she childminds. Having recently had her drains done she had two long drainpipes lying around in the garden which she'd been intending to take to the skip. As fate had it..these actually make perfect car shoots!

I know this is a little late as we're halfway through June already (how has that happened!?) but I've seen a lot of people doing these weekly/monthly collages and I wanted to join in!

So from left to right - Blowing bubbles on a sunny day, Taking a walk in the rain, cuddles from daddy on his arrival home from work, indoor play, picnic in the grass at the park, milkshakes at our favourite milkshake bar, hosting a BBQ, outdoor mummy daughter chats.

May was a really active month and I really enjoyed it, although I'm hoping June will be a bit calmer, I'm flipping exhausted at the moment!

Like most of you, I'm sure I wasn't alone in having never heard of Obstetric Cholestasis before (OC). For those of you who weren't aware, I was diagnosed with OC by a midwife who happened to notice that I was itching a lot during one of my scans (the main symptom of OC) and to cut a long story short she asked me a few questions, arranged a few tests, and days later I was booked in to be induced! I was induced 2 weeks early at 38 weeks as a precaution.

Obstetric cholestasis is a complication during pregnancy, albeit a rare one, which causes a persistent itch that usually develops during the last trimester of your pregnancy. This is caused by a build-up of bile acids in the bloodstream and disappears once you have had your baby. It affects fewer than 1% of pregnant women in the UK but requires medical attention due to a small increased risk of complications during your pregnancy.

This weekend has been lovely, the suns been out and so has the pimms!

On Thursday myself and my mum took Lily and the two children she looks after out for a walk in Temple Neusam. It was a scorching hot day and Lily and Harrison had a whale of a time running around together. They really are partners in crime I love it! We took a walk around the gardens which were so beautiful, we're definitely going to be going back when James gets his new camera!

A photo of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015

This weeks photograph has been hard to choose from as I've taken so many. We've been on so many walks and the weather has been great. I settled for this one as I love the style and colours in it. It was taken yesterday morning when myself James & Lily went for a walk through the hollies in Meanwood Wood and got completely and utterly lost. These steps are where we sat down to consult google navigation to tell us where we were. We found our way back to the car park eventually after hours of wlking in circles and eventually asking a dog walker to help us, haha.

The 52 Project - 23/52

Sunday 7 June 2015

Sometimes I look at Lily and I'm astounded by how different we are. Whilst I'm cautious and prefer to play it safe, Lily is adventurous, unpredictable and down right fearless.
