This morning was more of a relaxed one for us. Lily got up at 6am on the dot (as she has taken to doing of late!) and we spent much of the morning drinking lots of coffee (me, not lily!) and watching Fireman Sam on repeat via Netflix.

Holidaying in Filey - Day 2

Linking up once again with Nicola's 'Mummy and Me' linky over at Life Through My Eyes. This photograph was taken at the beach after Lily had tired herself out and declared she wanting carrying back to the car. I obliged and got a sweet little kiss in return which James captured. Love her to pieces

Mummy and Me - April

Wednesday 29 April 2015

At the time of writing this I am absolutely beyond exhausted so you'll have to excuse me if this post seems a little badly written..I'm going off of 3 hours sleep right now!

As you may or may not be aware myself, James and Lily are spending a week by the sea. Filey to be precise, with James's family, in the same cottage as the trip we took last year..we enjoyed it so much last year we decided to make it a yearly thing!

I guess you could say this is technically day 2 but yesterday we were just arriving and settling in so didn't really do much and therefore I don't feel like it deserved its own blog post. Today however has been busy busy busy so there's lots to talk about and lots of photographs to post!

Holidaying in filey - Day 1

On Friday it was my birthday and I had the most lovely day! James managed to get the day of work and wanting to make the most of the whole day we decided to spend the morning at Harlow Carr before heading to my mums in the afternoon.

For anyone who hasn't heard of Harlow Carr it's essentially a bunch of beautiful gardens in Harrogate with a whole bunch of things to see and do and so many pretty walks. I was in heaven!
I wasn't actually expecting the place to be as big as it was..we were there for about 2 and a half hours before lily got too tired and I'd say we probably saw about 50% of the whole place. From wildflower meadows to tree top play areas and beautiful woodlands, Harlow Carr really is the most beautiful place to visit. Especially if you like walking and are a keen photographer like me. I wish I'd known about it sooner actually. It really is a photographers paradise which is why I may have got a liiiiittle snap happy!

The weather this week has meant I can finally bust out the summer wardrobe! Hooray! I adore this outfit, lily looks so cute in it and it's really comfy for her to wear. I'll definitely be packing it for our seaside trip next week.

Saturday 25 April 2015

These last few weeks have been so lovely. Really really lovely. This week in particular the weather has reached up to 25 degrees and every day has been scorching. What is it about blue skies and warm weather that makes such a difference to everyone's mood?!

Weekly Round Up

I'm really getting into crafting lately! I'm definitely not the most arty or talented person in the world and I can find crafting incredibly frustrating (but rewarding too!) however I like the idea of Lily's room having lots of things decorated or made by myself or Lily to add that personal touch.

I purchased this wooden house shelf online as I thought it would be perfect to use as a miniature dolls house for Lily's room.

I've had this question a few times now so I thought I would do a blog post about why I choose to vlog as well as blog. For me vlogging actually came before blogging, I've technically had my YouTube channel longer than I've had this blog running! I started making YouTube videos when Lily was a baby. I would make a monthly update video each month and set the videos to private so only I could see them. This for me was a great visual way of remembering what Lily was like and what she was up to at certain months. However when Lily got to a year old I started thinking that I wanted to capture our 'adventures' as well as just doing her updates. The older she was getting the more and more trips out we were having and I wanted to capture those days for us both to look back on. That's where the name Lily Mae Adventures came from.

A Parent's Worst Nightmare...

Thursday 16 April 2015

I genuinely think I may have found the holy grail of face toners. I've always been a fan of face toners but had been yet to find one that didn't break my face out. I have super sensitive skin and my skin seems to react to just about everything I put on it which is more than slightly annoying.

When the lovely company InstaNatural sent me their rose water facial toner to review I'll admit I was sceptical because of my experiences with toners in the past. However I couldn't have been more wrong about this one.

This year for Valentines Day James got me an Imperial Candle. He knows how much I love candles and I knew he was going to buy me one so I asked for an Imperial one as I've heard so much about them recently.

Imperial candles are hand poured soy candles that come in a range of different scents. Their USP is that each candle has a piece of jewellery inside that ranges from £10 to £2,000 in value, plus a chance to win an iPad. Imperials Candles are around the £20-£30 mark and considering this is the price I would happily pay for say, a Yankee Candle, it really does seem to be good value for money

So is it too good to be true?

Oh my gosh I'm embracing this weather so much at the moment! We're spending every day outside having picnics or going for walks and I love it!

Yesterday me and my brother took Lily to Meanwood woods, one of my favourite woods of all time. If you've been following my blog for a while you've probably seen plenty of pictures of these particular woods already..we go all the time, its just so pretty!

My Happy Place

Saturday 11 April 2015

I woke up this morning to the sun streaming in through the curtains and after taking a look at my far too hyper for this time of the morning toddler I decided this morning would be the perfect morning to go on a breakfast date, just me and bugs. We get a yummy breakfast and Lily gets to burn off some energy before her lunchtime nap, result!

Our local cafe was way busier than I thought it would be for such an early morning but I guess everyone had the same idea we did! Me and Lily shared a lovely croissant and she had a raspberry milkshake whilst I had my favourite hazelnut latte.

The weather was sooo lovely on Easter Monday and we had such a nice day I thought I'd do a little write up! Poor James has been poorly and so wanted to stay at home for the day but me & Lil wanted to make the most of the weather so decided to get out for a picnic with my cousins so he could rest.

Easter Monday

Thursday 9 April 2015

I have a patch of Lily's room that's been bugging me for ages now. She's has cloud stickers above her cot but between the stickers and her chest of draws there's just a big patch of empty wall. I decided to fill the space up by buying two ikea mini bookshelves (£5 each) and an ikea stool for £3. Add some little touches such as photo frames, cushions and a nightlight and I'm really pleased with how its turned out! That annoying empty space has now become a lovely little reading corner and is no longer a massive eye sore.

Happy Easter from me and my little bunny! I hope you all had a lovely day. Ours was surprisingly brilliant! I wasn't expecting much as we've never really massively celebrated Easter but Lily's at that age where she's genuinely excited by the prospect of the Easter bunny now and having the sun shine for us all day was an added bonus!

Easter Day 2015

Monday 6 April 2015

Last weekend Trinity shopping centre in Leeds was host to a one day Cbeebies event called 'Dancing Beebies.' The Dancing Beebies event was held to celebrate the forthcoming CBeebies Elves And The Shoemaker – a programme featuring Leeds’ own Northern Ballet’s latest children’s production, which will be shown on the kids’ TV channel on Easter Monday at 5pm.

So we've had a touch of good weather this week..and when I say a touch I mean a touch! Like, one day of sun! But I used it to my advantage and dressed Lily in some of her spring/summer clothes. I picked this white dress from Next with a long sleeved vest underneath (because lets face it..this is still the UK!) I think the dress is actually meant to be a blouse but because Lily's such a titch its more of a dress on her haha! Teamed with a blue polkadot headband from Primark and strawberry Next pumps this whole outfit looked super cute. Oh and not forgetting Lily's bride dolly which she insists on taking everywhere with her at the moment!

So I have been nominated for the Liebster award by Samantha over at The Mummyventure and Laura over at Dexters Mummy, thanks girls! I love these sorts of things because they allow you to find out a bit more about the other bloggers around you, lets you show appreciation to those blogs you love the best and is a good way of finding new blogs too.

So, on with the questions -
